This talk will:

• Walk through a few very simple decorators for people who have never seen them before.

• Show some real-world uses.

• Discuss aspect-oriented programming and decorators.

• Discuss Michele Simionato's decorator module.

• Look at properties as decorators, including the enhancements coming in python 2.6.

• Phillip Eby's PEAK-rules package implements generic functions for python. I'll walk through the theory behind generic functions, then how to use PEAK-rules.

• Look at class decorators (coming in 2.6) as an alternative to metaclasses.
